The
Pioneer SX-34B was the successor to the SX-34 model. It
also appeared under the symbol LX-34B with the possibility
of receiving on medium and long waves. The two versions
of the SX-34 differ little. The older version had a signal
level indicator in the form of a 6E5 magic eye and slide
switches on the faceplate, the successor with the letter
"B" was modernized, ie the 6E5 was replaced by a
mechanical pointer indicator and new switches were
introduced on the rocker type front.
The FM head modules were changed to AM0119 and the MPX
stereo decoder module to AM0130 on two 6EA8 lamps. The
neon was left as a stereo indicator. There were Mono /
Stereo and AFC (automatic frequency control) switches
added on the front.
Pioneer produced a set similar to the SX-34B construction,
consisting of the SA-400 amplifier and the TX-400 tuner. They were
also sold under the Allied / Knight brand. The tuner had
the symbol KNI-285 and the amplifier KNI-935. |
