The
FAX-150C model was a simple design, it had only / as many as 16
tubes (but 16 tubes in Europe in those years was almost a cosmic
amount), power supply on the 6CA4 / EZ81 vacuum dualdiode, power
amplifier in the SE system with 6BQ5 / EL84 tubes driven by 12AX7
/ ECC83. Tubes of the same type also amplified the signal from the
magnetoelectric pickup. Despite its small size and limited power,
it was a very decent structure. Good sensitivity and selectivity
of the FM head on the ECC85, an extensive intermediate frequency
module with a "magic eye" tuning indicator and a very good MPX
decoder controlling the neon indicator complete this "bedroom"
receiver. The 150C models have a large group of fans. Power supply
on a vacuum tube and SE amplifier are very appreciated by lovers
of tube sound. And for fans of a stronger hit, the receiver has
the ability to boost bass and treble. However, in order not to
overdo it, without an additional boost on the loudness switch. The
receiver only supports 8 ohm loudspeakers and has no headphone
output.
