Monarch Electronics International, Inc.

Little can be said about Monarch, except that in the 1960s and 1970s it was a manufacturer / importer of equipment for the American market, especially to sunny California. And that's where the company was located at Laurel Canyon Blvd., North Hollywood, California. Monarch tube products were clearly Japanese production, as evidenced by components and specific design. The company bought in Japan various tube devices (and later transistor ones), such as tuners, amplifiers, receivers, MPX decoders, either produced especially for them or manufactured and sold by Japanese companies under their own brands and at the same time delivered to Monarch. An example is the Pioneer SMB-200 model, also sold by Monarch. The present-day MONACOR company derives from MONARCH ELECTRONICS INTERNATIONAL, INC.
