The
FAX-200C was similar in size to the 150C. However, it had more
features and provided more power. Electronic design had changed
but the number of tubes did not change - there were 16 of them in
total. The main difference, however, was the operation of the
power amplifier in the Push & Pull system. Despite the fact
that 6BM8/ECL82 power tubes were used, the receiver was able to
provide (according to the manufacturer) a music power of 10 W per
channel. The FAX-200C can work with speakers with a resistance of
8 or 16 ohms. The device was powered by a voltage doubler based on
semiconductor diodes. The receiver had a headphone output and a
"Loudness" switch. In addition, there was a mode selector switch
on the front - inverted channels / stereo / mono / left channel /
right channel (of course, left or right on both channels at the
same time). The receiver has an extremely "modern" electronic
design since the tuner, stereo decoder, RIAA preamplifier and the
first stage of the preamplifier were mounted on printed circuit
boards.
Radio reception was possible in the MPX stereo system FM 88-108
MHZ and additionally there was an AM band. Tune indicator was made
with a "magic eye" tube 6ER-13. Stereo indicator was a neon bulb.
